The latest single from their imminent ‘Group Therapy’ album, Above & Beyond’s ‘Thing Called Love’ follows the widespread success of the trio’s recent crossover smash ‘Sun & Moon’ – a track playlisted by BBC Radio 1.
Again featuring the distinctive vocals of Richard Bedford, ‘Thing Called Love’ is a powerful song-driven anthem that upholds Above & Beyond’s unique ability to marry innovative electronic grooves with stirring, thoughtful lyrics that are the antithesis of throwaway club tracks.
A huge underground favourite that has already clocked up over 1 million views on YouTube and touched thousands with its words, ‘Thing Called Love’ has even acted as the soundtrack to both marriage proposals and even wedding days of those feeling the force of it’s message the most. Ironically, though, the lyrics were actually intended to tell the story of a relationship that never was – a lost love rather than realised.
In keeping with the stadium-sized sound of ‘Sun & Moon’, Above & Beyond’s Burning Bridges Mix of ‘Thing Called Love’ blends a chunky electro groove with a forward-thinking, euphoric melody drop. Sitting neatly outside genres, ‘Sun & Moon’ is another festival-ready anthem with meaning from Above & Beyond.
Above & Beyond feat. Richard Bedford ‘Thing Called Love’ will be released on 29th May.
Hospital Radio Chelmsford's 2017 entry for best Station of the Year in the HBA 2017 National Hospital Radio Awards.
The entry is a showcase of Hospital Radio Chelmsford's active work across Broomfield Hospital and the local Chelmsford community between November 2015 and October 2016; spreading awareness of health issues, local support groups, and community events; supporting the Hospital trust with podcasts, coverage of Staff Awards, training events and Hospital improvements; but most importantly of all, engaging and entertaining the many patients of Broomfield Hospital, giving them an extra friend, during their most difficult time.
Inverness Hospital Radio's presenter Adam Hamilton interviews Jamie MacDonald from Netsounds Unsigned, who are producing new shows for the station in February.
In the second part of the interview, you find out about what he has planned for the shows. Plus you hear preview of songs that he will be playing.
To celebrate 2017's HBA Conference in Bolton, we've created this montage of recent jingles for hospital stations across the UK.
At Ignite, we believe that every station should be able to use fantastic imaging, regardless of size or location. We love working with hospital, community, commercial and public service stations in the UK and beyond - every package gets the same love and attention of detail.
Here's to a great 2017 HBA Conference!
